NEWSFLASH! Joe Lieberman is on the Outs with the Democratic Party!
Mr. Lieberman particularly infuriated his colleagues when he pointed out at a conference here that President Bush would be commander in chief for three more years and said that "it's time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge that."
"We undermine the president's credibility at our nation's peril," Mr. Lieberman said.
Wow, A Democrat who realizes this garbage is undermining the effort. But, of course, in the monolithic Dim Party, we cannot have divergent thought, for:
Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the minority leader, phoned Mr. Lieberman this week to express concerns with his views, Mr. Reid's aide said.
"Senator Reid has a lot of respect for Senator Lieberman," said Jim Manley, a Reid spokesman. "But he feels that Senator Lieberman's position on Iraq is at odds with many Americans."
Yes, but debate and dissent is healthy, isn't it? I mean, that is the meme you give as your party trashes our soldiers as nazis, accuses them of being terrorists, right? Why isn't dissent good for the Democratic party?
Here is the most ridiculous thing:
An aide to another leading Democratic senator who insisted on anonymity said the feelings toward Mr. Lieberman could be summed up as, "The American people want to hold George Bush accountable for the failed policy in Iraq, and Senator Lieberman doesn't."
No, most people want us to win the war, not cut and run, but keep on living in the dream world, whoever you are. Methinks it was John "did you know I fought in Vietnam" Kerry.
Sen. Lieberman gets it. He understands, as do many Americans, that the kook left has hijacked the party and is playing this war for politics. Survey after survey show that a majority of Americans, even those who disagree with the President, know the Dems are playing politics with the war. And more poeple are tired of it. These are our young men's lives. More people agree with VP Cheney (see last week's articles).
It is a shame that there is no longer a place for Joe Lieberman in the democrat party.
