AP News Alert:DIWANIYAH, Iraq (AP) The top U.S. general in Iraq says Army forces are "stretched" but he will only recommend withdrawals based on operational needs.Well, do we or do we not have enough troops in Iraq to finish the job? That's all I want to know. This constant shifting of position by the Department of Defense is really starting to tick me off... This really isn't that hard of a question. And the American people deserve an answer that won't change in a week.

I too grow tired of the constant wrangling. Rummy needs to get his people together to present a clear message. Either we need more troops or we don't. Either we are stretched too thin or we are not. I tend to think we are not, that since this war is more of a small skirmish campaign, that small quick teams are the need, not large batallions with colossal firepower. However, it would be nice to simply get a straight answer.
