Manuel Bartsch Update

We've been getting a lot of Google hits on this story. Here are two updates from ONN:
The northwest Ohio teenager returned to Pandora-Gilboa High School Friday morning for the first time since his release from jail Thursday. Bartsch is battling to avoid deportation to his native Germany and had been jailed outside Cleveland since December 21st.

T-V cameras trailed his first hour at school, where he was greeted with signs proclaiming, "Welcome Home, Manuel."

During a news conference, Bartsch said he was nervous about all the attention and looking forward to going to accounting class and having pizza for lunch.
And the second:
Manuel (man-WEHL') Bartsch was put in prison last month after immigration officials told him a relative never finished the paperwork that would have let him legally stay in the U-S. He had come into the country in 1997.

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman won't say why the teen's status changed, but still says Bartsch is an "illegal alien" who will need to go before an immigration judge.

In the meantime, Bartsch tells A-P Radio all he wants is to be allowed to graduate from high school. He says if he has to have a hearing, he'll just "take it from there."
This is a sad situation, but it looks like it is getting better.

I really can't see why the kid shouldn't be allowed to stay, but his situation is a serious one.
