Remember when Blew Blewitt said we should support Arlen Specter, that the President should support him and campaign for him because it will gain the President political capital? Remember his whole strategery monologue on supporting RINOs? Well, Blew, here is what you get for such idiocy:
The chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee said Sunday he has asked Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to testify during open hearings on the legality of the Bush administration's domestic spying program.
The committee chairman, Sen. Arlen Specter (news, bio, voting record), R-Pa., said senators will examine that issue and other legal questions in hearings scheduled for early February. Gonzales' testimony is being sought because he is the principle spokesman for the administration's position, Specter said.
Yeah, and where is that cooperation Blew Blewitt said would be coming on judiciary nominees from Scary Specter, hmm? This is why you get candidates who support the vision, not just ones who happen to hvae an R next to their name. Specter is a turncoat, a traitor to the cause, and the Senate leadership needs to do something about him as soon as they can. Next session, they need to unseat him as judiciary chair when they reorganize the Senate.
Oh, and note to the Bush Admin: please get someone besides Gonzalez to articulate your position...he was like putty in the hands of the Dems last time he testified on such policy issues.
