Update
Well done, Mark!Another Update
Tom Blumer says in the comments: "Well, what the bleep did he say?"I was going to let Mark tell that story...but I can see Tom's point...
Basically, the topic was Ohio politics (Ken Blackwell and the governor's race for starters). Mark called in to plug Bill's challenge of DeWine. If you've read Bill's book, you know that he and Tony know each other. Tony started telling Bill's story without a prompt from Mark and the conversation went on for a few minutes from there. Tony asked Bill on air to give him a call (I sent Bill an email to let him know).
Mark just text-messaged me to say that he'll give us the blow by blow later, so I think I'll let this quick and dirty summary suffice for now...
Mark's Remarks--1/26 update
I was driving in to work, had to come in late for a training session, and I was listening to the SnowMan. He was talking about integrity and vision, and how Republicans need to get that instead of "reelect me itis". He was talking about how woeful and pathetic the Ohio GOP has become, and how they have not exactly been overly enthusiastic about Ken Blackwell, even though he should be the nominee for Governor. Well, I saw my chance, both to rail on the Ohio GOP and to plug Bill Pierce (I read Bill's book, so I knew that mentioning his name might get some play). So, I called in. Unlike Sean Hannity's call screener, who is both rude and short, Tony's call screener was polite, asking where I was from and saying he would try to get me in. Sean's just said, ok, I will tell Sean, and hung up on me. So, I waited, listening to the show as I pulled into work.
Next thing I knew, I was on. So, I said, "Tony, I just wanted to let you know that there are more people in Ohio wanting to get real conservative issues on the table, and running with integrity. One of them is challenging Mike DeWine, and you are familiar with him, his name is Bill Pierce. Tony immediately interjected with "yeah, Bill and I go way back," and began to tell the story. I intimated that Tony as a Cincinnati, Ohio, native, should get in contact with Bill Pierce. Tony then put out an all-call for Bill to call in and told Bill's story. I had to hang up or I would have talked more, as I was going to be late for work.
Glad to have helped get the ball rolling....GO GET 'EM, BILL!
