From the McEwen campaign via the WMD Mailbag:
Bob McEwen accepted State Representative Tom Brinkman’s endorsement of his candidacy for the Republican nomination in the 2nd Congressional District today.
"It is an honor to receive support for my Congressional campaign from a fellow advocate for limited government. Tom Brinkman is a principled, pro-life conservative whose endorsement of my campaign is deeply appreciated,” said McEwen, an Ohio native and former State Representative.
McEwen, a pro-life legislator committed to controlling the growth of government, added, “We need more jobs, not more taxes, in southern Ohio and I am pleased to learn Tom will keep fighting the good fight in Columbus. He is my state representative and I will gladly vote for him and encourage others to do so.”
Brinkman, who considered a run for Congress but will instead seek a fourth term in the Ohio House of Representatives, said today, “Bob McEwen is a man of conviction and character who will return respected conservative leadership to the Second District. Bob has the experience and the respect to get things done for our district.”
McEwen has a distinguished reputation as one who worked hard on behalf of southern Ohio Taxpayers throughout his 6 terms as a Member of Congress. As a Member of Congress, McEwen was elected by his colleagues to the two most coveted positions in the U.S. Congress; the Select Committee on Intelligence which oversees all of our nation's secrets, and the powerful House Committee on Rules which has jurisdiction over all legislation in the Congress.
