With this whole contrived melodrama about the ports, Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton, as well as other Senate Democrats and "hug a terrorist" Republicans like Susan Collins are trying to look like they have a security backbone. They are trying to appear strong on "protecting our ports." Hillary especially has decided to come out and be hawkish on this one. She has been trying to move to the center fr the past 3 years, even with her own breakdowns in supporting fillibusters, voting against Alito, and making jokes with Ted Kennedy (of all people) about the Vice President's hunting accident.However, looking at her record shows another person, the true Hillary. Congressional Quarterly looked at 229 Senate votes in 2005 to see how often each Senator voted with a majority of his/her party. Ted kennedy voted the liberal party line (hiccup!) 100%of the time; John Kerry voted with the Dems 97% of the time. Hillary? She voted a truly "non-partisan" 95% of the time with the Democratic party!
By contrast, Democrat Ben Neson voted with the party line only 46% of the time.
Don't be fooled by this latest cannard, ladies and gentlemen. Hillary is not concerned about our security. If she were, she would be working hard to get the Patriot Act back in full force, instead of laughing and joking with Harry Reid about how they killed it. No, there are other reasons for her current position besides security, but her and Chuck Schumer are using this to make it look like they care about our security.
