Liberal Censorship

You know, people often complain that Republicans and conservatives live in "an echo chamber," and consistently don't allow divergent points of view. With a few exceptions, WMD has not fit that mold. However, liberal blogs tend to take a different tack. I just received an email from WMD reader Sam, who said he has been banned from a local liberal blog because (gasp!) he challenged the author on facts. The key fact in question was "how can you say Cincinnati is bad because of conservatives and has been ruined by conservatives when the mayorship and the council have been dominated by democrats for 2 decades?"

At every turn, the author of the liberal blog, who I have tangled with in the past, called names, insulted the man's intelligence, but Sam stayed firm. He kept returning to that question, highlighting the liberal's lack of candor and knowledge at every turn. So, what happens? Does the liberal out there do research to prove his points? Does he acknowledge he used incorrect facts and didn't bother to check?

Nope, he simply bans the user. How sad.

This is the reality of modern liberalism. Echooooooo!

I suppose that would make this particular liberal blogger a "coward"...

Me? I think the blogger who engages his readers should have the right to ban whomever he likes... We've had to ban a few commenters who have gotten out of control here ourselves. But simply challenging the assertions made by the blogger really shouldn't be enough to get banned...in our case, we banned commenters who got too personal with their attacks. We prefer to stick to the issues.

Sam is welcome anytime...
