Heard on Hannity and am attempting to verify, though on Ham and Cheese they reiterated it--Mr. Bennish refused to come on the Today show until they dumped Sean Allen. It seems he was afraid of debating the issues with a kid. Here he is, uber educated lefty, afraid to go toe to toe with a young conservative. Wow, he truly is courageous. Then, of course, the Today show caves, and Matt "I should be host of Softball" Lauer comes in with nothing but slow pitch questions. I wonder how harsh he would have been on Sean Allen. Just think, a liberal scholar afraid of debating a high school kid? Wow, maybe Mr. Bennish is not as learned as he thought he was.

From el Rush-bo, a transcript of the interview with Lauer,where he calls Sean Allen basically a conservative plant. Come on now, Mr. Lauer, what about your concern for the children, oh wait, I forgot, only children who kowtow to propagandizers like this Bennish clown:
LAUER: They basically shopped it around to conservative media outlets, and when they finally released it to one it created an uproar, and on the tape you can hear Sean Allen asking you questions that seem to be egging you on a little bit. Do you feel you were set up?

Then, the interview goes into fantasy land. OK, Mr. Bennish, why talk about the State of the Union as you did?
BENNISH: The State of the Union address that was the night before, and I explained to the students that in the case of the State of the Union, this is applicable to a world geography class because for many people around the world, this speech might impact their lives more so than the speeches that their own leaders do.
Does this putz not know we have him on tape?!?!? I mean, go back and listen to the tapes, read the full transcripts. Where is this clear explanation by Mr. Bennish that what he is doing is an exercise? Come on now! This is worse than Nixon saying he never ever cursed when we have tapes knowing he did. What did Matt Lauer and Mr. Bennish know and when did they know it? Someone call Bob Woodward and that hack Bernstein! Someone get Deep Throat out of the dirtnap!
