Richard Fleischer, who died on Saturday aged 89, was the Hollywood director responsible for films such as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Boston Strangler and Fantastic Voyage, as well as the original Doctor Doolittle.
This guy was the son of cartoonist and filmmaker Max Fleischer, famous for his 1930s and 40s cartoons, including Superman. Richard Fleishcer worked with some of the greats, and Fantastic Voyage is a classic for the sci-fi genre of the time period. 20000 Leagues Under the Sea is also a classic.
