Media Bias: Andy Card Story

From globeandmail.com:
Key Bush aide quits amid calls for wider shakeup
U.S. President George W. Bush, under pressure to shake up his administration, announced yesterday he will replace his chief of staff, Andrew Card, with another loyal insider, budget director Joshua Bolten. But the resignation was widely described as a move Mr. Card initiated to leave a gruelling, high-pressure job, not a sign that Mr. Bush wants new blood to re-energize the White House.

In a hastily arranged morning ceremony at the Oval Office, Mr. Bush said he reluctantly accepted Mr. Card's resignation and he praised both men. He hailed Mr. Card's "wise counsel, his calm in crisis, his absolute integrity and his tireless commitment to public service," and called Mr. Bolten a "creative policy thinker" and "an expert on the budget and our economy."

Note the implied sentiment that there is trouble in the White House, that there is a possible shakeup to placate others. Give me a friggin' break! Where was this coverage when people were going thru the revolving door of Bubba' chief of staff? This is common. In fact, it was uncommon for Mr. Card to remain past the first term. Most chiefs of staff leave after the first term, because of the stress of the job, not as part of a shakeup. As usual, the drive-by MSM cares only for imparting their perceptions onto you, by subtle propagandizing and half-truths, instead of reporting.

The truth of the matter is that Mr. Card is stressed, that he probably has had enough of the fray. However, many sources say Mr. Card is going to work for Mitt Romney's Presidential campaign, especially since many Card associates are currently working for him. This is the most likely scenario, althought Mr. Card's official title will likely not be announced for upwards to another year. However, leave it to the drive-by media to not report that, but to leave the impression that there is a strom brewing in the White House.
