Ney Helps to Pass Patriot Act

As an update to the Harris piece, I'd like to point out this piece in the Chillicothe Gazette that outlines all the changes to the Patriot Act. The money quote from Congressman Ney:
“I have long felt that there were important parts of the Patriot Act which were necessary to fully fighting the war on terror, however, there were other significant areas of the original legislation that gave me great concern when it came to the important issue of protecting the civil liberties of American citizens,” Ney said in a statement today.

“I was pleased to see that in debating the reauthorization of this legislation the Bush Administration listened to the concerns of those of us in the Congress who had previously opposed the bill and agreed to several key compromises which allowed me support it in this vote."
The Gazette piece has a nice sidebar that lists the changes to the Patriot Act.
