I don't even know where to start on this nonsense...
As for the Palestinians, they elected a terrorist organization to be their government. There are consequences to democracy... Most people only talk about the rights that come with democracy and forget that there are also responsibilities that go along with them.
It was no secret that Hezbollah was operating in Lebanon. If Lebanon had tried to expel these terrorist thugs from their country, Buchanan MIGHT have a point. But they didn't. Therefore, Lebanon does bear some responsibility for the actions of Hezbollah. Granted, they don't bear the same responsibility that Syria and Iran does, but they are culpable too.
Israel is doing what they have to do. The United States has to support our strongest ally in the region. Notice that most of the other Arab countries in the Middle East aren't all up in arms over this situation... It is past time that peace and democracy comes to the Middle East. Freedom is still on the march...
If Buchanan were the drum major for this particular parade, he'd be signalling for a halt. Doesn't that sound just like the fever swamp left? It sure does to me...
