If you're seeing shades of gray...

...it's because you're not looking close enough to see the black and white dots.

I saw the above quote over at Red State today and it got me thinking...

In the movie Clear and Present Danger, DDO Robert Ritter (played by Henry Czerny) tells Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) that our hero sees the world in black and white when in fact the world is composed of shades of gray. Jack believes the world actors can be seen as being either right or wrong. And Jack is correct.

I've known many a liberal to hold this view that there is no right or wrong / black or white. You've probably heard or made this argument yourself before. But the reality is that we are in a war for our very survival. Our lifestyle is at risk. Our very lives are on the line. This war is real. Our enemies desire nothing more than to kill each and every one of us.

Some might call that fearmongering. And I've heard that argument alot too. That may be so. That doesn't change the facts: the Islamofascist threat that western civilization faces is real and determined. For the most part, we still don't understand the nature of the threat let alone the consequences of failure.

30% of Americans can't even tell you the year that 9/11 happened. (Source) That would 2001, in case any of our liberal readers forgot. Five years ago. Our enemy has an institutional memory that is fighting to establish a Caliphate left in the dustbin of history for centuries. We, apparently, can't recall what we had for breakfast...

And then there are idiots like these guys who do nothing but criticize rational and calm voices that are trying to educate the populace. It is bad enough that we can't remember what year 9/11 happened but to discount the scholarly work of someone like Bernard Lewis as "sheer bat[$#|+] lunacy" (expletive "encoded" by me) is not only absurd by actually aids those who plan to do us harm. The excerpt that the Gawker fools quoted is enough to raise concern to the average thinking man...or at least should be. But our pop culture sensativities can't be concerned with such banalities, I guess.

Maybe Mike Wallace is right and we shouldn't dismiss the Iranian President as a mental case. Maybe, we should take Ahmadinejad at his word. He has said some rather scary things and he no doubt wants to fulfill his word. When the leader of a country says that he wants to wipe Israel off the map and that country is working towards acquiring nuclear weapons technology; perhaps we should be a bit concerned.

The Islamofascists are counting on our complacency. They are planning for us to stick our heads in the sand.

On yesterday's Glenn Beck Program, Glenn took a call from a guy who said that he wasn't preparing so much for the Islamofascist onslaught as much as for the fallout. What our enemy plans for us in the short term is economic ruin. They want to turn us in to a third world country (kind of like socialist agenda...). The caller made the point that he was preparing to deal with situations more like the aftermath of Katrina where looting occured. Something to think about for sure... After we have killed off a significant number of each other, our enemy plans to come in and finish the job.

So let's go back to the dots... We need to start looking closer at events and people so that we have a better determination of what we're up against and figure out how to keep our friends and family safe and secure. If you are seeing gray, you aren't looking close enough. If you can't determine who the good guys and the bad guys are, you need to look deeper.
