Syria Opposes UN

What a surprise, Syria doesn't want UN troops on thier border enforcing that all-powerful UN resolution that is propping up the sham that is the cease-fire between Hezbollah and Israel.

While we're talking about UN troops, turns out that they have managed to collect commitments for 4,200 troops to go in and stop the violence. The resolution calls for 15,000. The world community is failing to get this done. Seems as if the UN toadies were willing to let Israel walk the walk, but now that the the UN wants to disarm Hezbollah they can't back up the talk.

Speaking of that, the French general in charge of UNIFIL says that Israel can't ask the UN to disarm Hezbollah. It sounds to me as if the French position is that Israel should feel free to start the war right back up...that way the French can do what they always do: complain that other people are doing what needs to be done while France sits on the sideline waving their white flags of surrender.

PARIS (AP) President Jacques Chirac says he is increasing France's peacekeeping force in Lebanon to 2,000 troops.
This force is still a few thousand short...
