Iraq Update

AP News Alert:
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) The U.S. military spokesman says there has been a 22 percent jump in attacks during Ramadan and the drive to secure Baghdad has "not met our overall expectations."
I suspect that we are missing quite a bit of "context" here, but I would have to agree in general that the Baghdad situation is not getting any better and it really needs to improve. Cut and run isn't the answer. More troops haven't been requested, but I suspect that more troops in the region would help. Getting more Iraqis competently trained is the real solution, but that takes time...
