A Word About The Polls

I'm not a fan of polls. I think they are good for a snapshot of a situation, but really aren't very good for predicting what is going to happen on Election Day. Apparently, on last night's Special Report with Brit Hume (link to transcript at The Corner), Fred Barnes hits on exactly the reason why this is:
BARNES: Polls don't tell you much about turnout. They really don't and so if you have a great turnout operation, you can thwart the polls.
The GOP has the best GOTV operation in the business.

Throw in the fact that these polls tend to oversample Democrats anyway, and you have yourself a recipe for prognosticating an electoral disaster that will never come.

This is another reason for Republicans to disregard the 527 media which is trying to convince you it isn't worth going to the polls on Election Day. Every vote counts...you just have to do your patriotic duty and get it done.
