A Return to the Majority in the US Senate?

This is extremely macabre and I really hate myself for thinking this...

AP News Alert:
WASHINGTON (AP) Democratic Sen. Tim Johnson of South Dakota has suffered a possible stroke, his office says.
If, God forbid, Sen. Johnson were unable to return to his post, he would be replaced by South Dakota's governor, Michael Rounds (R). If Rounds were to replace Johnson with a Republican, that would take the Seante back to a 50-50 split where Vice President Cheney would be the deciding vote. That would bring the US Senate back in to Republican control.

But let's all pray that Sen. Johnson recovers and can return to work.

Besides, I'd much rather the GOP regain control of the Senate the right way anyway...

Go ahead, lefties, beat me up for even thinking about it...

THURS. MORNING UPDATE: AP News Alert:
WASHINGTON (AP) A hospital official says Democratic Sen. Tim Johnson is recovering from surgery and his condition is critical.
This sounds like good news.
