GOP Movers and Shakers

LincolnLogsBlog and RightAngleBlog have the story that Ohio GOP Executive Director Chris McNulty is moving on to a position in the RNC. Chris is super smart and is a wizard when it comes to Ohio politics. He'll be a BIG asset for the RNC and the Great Lakes region. Matt Dole wonders if John Becker might be a good fit for replacing McNulty...whether or not Matt is serious, it is an intriguing idea and well worth considering.

Also in that Matt Dole post is this tidbit about the Deputy Chair race:
I understand that some of our Deputy Director candidates aren’t happy with outsiders rocking the boat. I think Kevin DeWine would make a find candidate for Chair, but I think there are bigger and better things awaiting him. Maybe I am wrong, but I see DeWine as a potential Congressional or statewide candidate shortly.
DeWine has the baggage of being a DeWine, but I do suspect that we'll see more from him than this. Talented legislators don't quit to be party leaders without a very good reason to do so...

Lake County GOP Chairman Dale Fellows continues to be the front runner in this race if you ask me. One thing that DeWine would bring to the race is a bit of geographical diversity...something that I think is needed in this contest badly.
