Rep. King Comments on CBO Cost Projection of HR1

This came in last night via email:
As one of their first orders of business this year, House Democrats rushed their 9/11 recommendations bill to the floor - a bill which did NOT implement all of the 9/11 recommendations as they had repeatedly promised - without any idea how much it cost. Now we know -- $21 billion over five years. Homeland Security Ranking Republican Peter King comments below, and the CBO cost estimate is attached.
"This bill was rushed to the floor without the Democratic leadership giving us any indication of its massive cost-and now we know why," King said. "I think this $21 billion estimate makes it clear that the bill actually contradicts 9/11 Commission recommendations, which called for a risk-based allocation of homeland security resources. Had we known this before the bill was brought to the floor, it would have been a different story."
It would not have been a different story...Democrats had enough votes to push that through...and Democrats don't care about how much money government spends...
