Okay so I watched a CNN report on Rove's "involvement." Here's the gist: He asked a bunch of questions about how to proceed on the USDAs. Here's the lede from the AP: "WASHINGTON - White House political adviser Karl Rove raised questions in early 2005 about replacing some federal prosecutors but allowing others to stay, an e-mail released Thursday shows."I've been meaning to write about this nonsense, but Jonah has pretty much summed it up for me quite nicely...
Mother of all that is Holy NO! You mean right after Bush's reelection Karl Rove asked an open-ended question about how to deal with a bunch of political appointees?Where's my passport? Honey grab the kid, the dog, and whatever family photos you can. We're getting out of this country right now! This place isn't safe for decent people any more.
We are now in full-blown silly season.
UPDATE: Howard Dean is overplaying his hand again... "This could be Bush's Watergate..." Uh-huh...whenever liberals pull out Nixon, I know they are making a mountain out of a molehill...
