Fred Thompson's Cancer Diagnosis

I've seen an increase in hits from the search engines for "fred thompson cancer" most of which led folks to a stupid off hand remark I made about how tough Fred Thompson is...

Turns out, Fred Thompson has been diagnosed with cancer. Bloomberg reports on the story and we are happy to note that Thompson's disease is in remission.

Here is a Thompson quote from the FOX News coverage:

"I have had no illness from it, or even any symptoms. My life expectancy should not be affected. I am in remission, and it is very treatable with drugs if treatment is needed in the future — and with no debilitating side effects," Thompson said.

If his doctor is willing to corroborate this, I think Thompson is still in good enough shape to move forward in this race...
