Pelosi to General Petraeus: No Thanks, Ignorance is Bliss

In the last few weeks, Speaker Pelosi has met with the president of one state-sponsor of terror (Syria), discussed the possibility of meeting with yet another (in Iran), and only-begrudgingly accepted a meeting with the President of the United States about funding American troops (scheduled for today). This week, the Speaker claimed to be “too busy” (delaying troop funding and attempting to force a retreat) to schedule a briefing with General Petraeus for all House Members…until it was discovered that she had rejected the offer, that is. In March, Democratic leaders also neglected to attend the General’s first progress briefing since taking command of U.S. Forces and the new Baghdad Security Plan.

Roll Call has the story here. This is yet another situation that the American people should remember when they hear Demcorats talking about how they are the party of national security. To Democrats "national security" is just another tool in their bag of tricks and their rhetoric rarely matches their actions.
