On the House floor over the last hour, Democrats have repeatedly said, "go after the terrorists where they are!" Perhaps they should listen to their own House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) who has said:"Al Qaeda is obviously a very significant presence at this point in time." (AUDIO)
If Democrats want to go after the terrorists where they are, and al Qaeda has a "very significant presence" in Iraq, why do Democrats insisting on forcing our surrender?
That's an instant classic, man...
Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) today issued the following statement on the need for legislation funding American troops fighting the Global War on Terror:
“It’s disappointing that Democrats would needlessly delay a certain veto for five days instead of reaching out to Republicans in good faith and working in a bipartisan way to send the President a clean troop funding bill. We have made clear that the Democrats’ obligation as the majority controlling Congress is to put forth a clean bill that funds our troops -- a bill that does not tie the hands of the generals, and does not include billions of dollars in extra spending unrelated to the Global War on Terror. House Republicans will oppose any bill that includes provisions that undermine our troops and their mission, whether it’s benchmarks for failure, arbitrary readiness standards, or a timetable for American surrender.”
