#1Is he being paid by the State of Ohio? If so, what has he accomplished this month?
Strickland’s health director, Dr. Alvin Jackson, has yet to be seen by anyone at the Department of Health, with the exception of his initial office tour.
He was scheduled to take over on April 1st, which means he’s spent a month on the job without working at his job.
He’s a family physician in Fremont, and the excuse is that he hasn’t been able to break away from his practice.
5/4 UPDATE: An emailer sheds some light on Dr. Jackson's delay.
#2Brunner wouldn't play politics with her position now, would she?
Lee Fisher’s old office at the Center for Families and Children in Cleveland received a lot of emails during the campaign season. Now the workers there are getting regular emails from the ODP.
That organization is a non-profit but at the least the emails are questionable.

Clark County BOE is in need of a new Director and Deputy Director following the retirement of the two people currently serving in those positions. The Republicans and Democrats are split on who should be the next Director. Both sides have nominees, and the Republican is clearly more qualified based on education, work experience and board experience. Because of the tie, Brunner will have to cast the tie-breaking vote. Will she follow her own directive (2007-01) and appoint a Republican, or go with the Democrat, who by the way happens to be the president of the local AFSCME.
Again, if anyone has any insight to these issues, please leave a comment or email me privately.
