Carey Lands Endorsement of Belmont County Party Chairman

Via email:
St. Clairsville, Ohio (June 28, 2007)—Kent Moore, Chairman of the Belmont County Republican Party, became the first GOP Chairman to formally endorse Mike Carey in his campaign for the 18th Congressional District Republican nomination.

Chairman Moore commented, “The 18th Congressional District needs a fresh and charismatic person with strong family values and hard work ethics that knows and cares about our area. Although there appears to be an extensive list of qualified Republican candidates for the 18th District, I believe we need someone that can and will energize our base. That person is Mike Carey. I know Mike Carey and I believe he is the candidate that can win back the 18th Congressional district. The Belmont County Republican Party as a whole is not expected to endorse in this primary, therefore, it is my privilege to personally endorse his campaign for Congress.”

Mike Carey reacted to Chairman Moore’s endorsement, “I am honored to have the endorsement of Chairman Kent Moore. Kent Moore has been an active Republican leader for many years and is well respected. He has been working diligently to expand the Republican base in Belmont County and we are proud to have him on the Carey for Congress team.”
