No, no, no...the answer will NOT be found in pandering to any constituency. The answer lies in having a platform of ideas for the state and the nation. I respect Ken Mehlman as much as the next guy, but Hispandering is not the answer we are looking for...
Open border Republicans like Mehlman are out of touch with the party and the American people. How many polls does it take for these Washington eggheads to figure this out? Americans want enforcement FIRST. They will accept amnesty only after the invasion of illegals has been stopped.
Now, the President and his men have come out to say that those of use who want our laws enforced are some kind of racists and/or bigots. To those people, let me state in the plainest language possible: You are wrong.
America is a nation of immgrants. Our diversity is our strength. Nobody denies that. But we are also a nation of laws. And the sooner our elected officials in Washington remember that, the better off we will all be...
I am not anti-immigration. I am pro-enforcement. I support a physical wall with virtual fence enhancements. I also support what I call a Very Large Gate on the wall as well.
If we need cheap labor from another country to pick our lettuce; fine, by all means, let's get them here. But let's not pretend that the open borders crowd are concerned about the people that risk their lives and fortunes by coming here. They aren't. The Wall Street Journal types are only concerned about keeping this cheap labor force here. If anything, they should not want these people getting any kind of legal status that would lead towards citizenship and they certainly aren't interested in these folks making any kind of living wage...it just isn't logical.
So what is it really about? Hispandering.
And it is disgusting to see Republicans doing what Demcorats have been doing to minority groups for decades...
