State Rep. Widener says He'll Run for State Senate

From the Springfield News Sun:
State Rep. Chris Widener, R-Springfield, will run for the Ohio Senate in 2008.

In an announcement released Friday, Widener stated he will seek to replace state Sen. Steve Austria for the 10th Senate District. Austria will reach term limits in 2008.

The 10th Senate District includes all of Clark, Greene and Madison counties.

Widener is serving his third elected term, representing the 84th House District. He was appointed to the seat in 1999.

"There are a lot of positive things going on for our area right now," Widener said. "Being able to continue that is important to me."
Does anybody have an opinion on this one?
