Much has been written on Voinovich's latest gaffe that embarrassed the entire state of Ohio one more time, but there is one thing missing in all of this analysis. In his press release, he defended being the sole vote against securing our southern border by saying it was "a fiscally irresponsible amendment to the Homeland Security Appropriations Bill because of his concern that it would burden our children and grandchildren with another $3 billion of debt." Pretty much everybody has highlighted that, so what is missing?Voinovich is no deficit hawk.
Here Voinovich is excited that he secured $45 million for Ohio in homeland security grants.
Here Voinvich is jazzed about $75 million for the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) in the 2008 Energy and Water Development Appropriations bill.

Deficit hawk? Nope, not so much....Attention WHORE? Definately. That is what Voinovich is. He cares nothing for actual principle or issue or core. Remember how we couldn't intimidate him? Then he goes out and votes exactly as his constituents wanted...of course, he waited til his vote was moot, but the point is said. He views you expressing your opinion as intimidating him, not as telling him how you feel. This person suffers from DC Royalty disorder, and the only cure is getting him the hell out of office. Are you listening OHIO GOP? FIND SOMEONE TO RUN AGAINST HIM! HELL, A HAM SANDWICH OR TURKEY ON RYE COULD BEAT HIM!
