Yet Another Opponent for Jean Schmidt

From the Community Press:
With presidential campaigns in full swing, campaigners for Ohio's 2nd District Congressional seat, currently held by U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt (R), have been relatively quiet. Randy Longbottom hopes to change that.

The Amelia resident will run for the Congressional seat as an Independent candidate. The 2nd District comprises Clermont, Brown, Adams and Pike counties and parts of Hamilton, Warren and Scioto counties.

Now an engineering technician at Twin Rivers Technology on Este Avenue, Longbottom grew up in Withamsville, and has seen the area's changes firsthand.
Here is another guy to siphon a few more votes off the tally... The Republicans and/or conservatives in this district seem awfully focused on putting a Democrat in this seat.

His platform? So glad you asked. He's on fire about immigration:
He said he hasn't heard one person favor amnesty or a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, yet Congress "is spending time and money debating it."

Longbottom wants to limit immigration to 200,000 people a year, and build a fence along the border.

"Immigration is a good thing," he said, "it's what our country was founded on, but it has to be controlled."

Longbottom's other issues include a focus on imposing tariffs for imported goods and trying to move biofuel industries to the state.
I'm not sure I'm for tariffs and biofuel, but he looks like an interesting candidate...
