  • "Perceptions of Iraq War Are Starting to Shift" by Michael Barone

  • UPDATE: Since RCP picked up that I liked to this, I ought to say a little more about it.

I certainly hope that perceptions are starting to shift, but I'm still waiting for evidence that the the American people get that the surge is working and that victory is still possible in Iraq.

When the rhetoric changes out of the liberals in Washington (including White Flag Republican, the Crying Man, our Senator RINOvich), then I'll start believing that perceptions have changed. Voinovich needs to realize that he was wrong...again...and admit it publically -- if he would do so while announcing that he would retire at the end of his term would be a bonus.

Second-guessing our generals on the ground is not smart. Let's wait and see what the report has to say before we get cocky, though...

  • "Stealth Tax Increase" by Robert Novak

  • UPDATE: RCP picked up the link on this one too...

Honestly, I'm more concerned about the real stealth taxes being inserted by the Democrats in to virtually every bill they offer. Republicans are at least working out offsets, which is more than what I can say for our friends across the aisle. Perhaps if Mr. Novak would spend some time on that, we might get a little traction on that story...

You can say that again, Rush...
