The Columbus Dispatch has a story on the leadership fight on both sides of the aisle for the position of Speaker in the Ohio House of Representatives.

According to Matt Stoller of Open Left, "clean coal" isn't progressive and Charlie Wilson and Zack Space aren't progressive enough for the Democrats because they support it. Interesting... Will the freshmen Democrats from conservative areas of this state break under pressure? The rubber stamp is on their desks...

I've been casually following this witch hunt undertaken by the most partisan Secretary of State in Ohio history, Jennifer Brunner, against the organization that supports charter schools and its donations to Republicans. (background story here) It will be interesting to see if liberal organizations will get similar scrutiny for giving to Democrats, but I'm not holding my breath... What's sauce for the goose... At least, when the powers that be aren't corrupt and there is a level playing field.

Karl Rove will be on the Rush Limbaugh Program tomorrow, August 15 at 1PM Eastern. It is the first interview for Rove since announcing his retirement from the Bush administration. (release)
