John Kerry Smears John Boehner - Liberal Bloggers Buy It

The last couple of days, I have been seeing a lot of digital ink poured on a story where Rep. John Boehner supposedly disparaged the troops by saying that the loss of life in Iraq was a small price to pay. I suspected that this was another case of missing context, so I started looking in to it and asking around...

The smear occurs in this piece by Sen. John Kerry on the Huffington Post and from there spread like a virus through the leftysphere.

John Hawkins of Right Wing News was the first I saw to put Boehner's comment into the perspective of the entire question asked by Wolf Blitzer on CNN. If you have any doubt about this, be sure to read Hawkins' piece...

Here is the comment from Rep. Boehner's office when I asked for clarification:
"Congressman Boehner's remark was regarding the monetary investment we've made - and continue to make - to win the Global War on Terror to ensure our security. He went to Iraq this week to thank our troops for their service on behalf of our country and to take a firsthand look at the progress on the ground that some Democrats are so desperate to ignore. There isn't a Member of Congress who appreciates the sacrifices of our troops more and Congressman Boehner had lunch with soldiers from Ohio yesterday to thank them personally. It's apparent that some Democrats and the far-left wing of their party are deeply afraid we are winning in Iraq now, and it's clear they will do anything they can - including making false representations - to ensure our troops come home after defeat, not victory."
Case closed...

UPDATE: Check out this lying liar and lies that he's lying...
