BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - They've spent a year in Iraq, and now soldiers from northwest Ohio will come home. The unit mobilized from Ft. Dix, New Jersey, last year after getting specialized training for their mission in Iraq. Bravo Company soldiers ran a POW camp at Camp Remembrance II in Baghdad. They sheltered, guarded, protected and accounted for 3,000-4,000 detainees.
While in Iraq, they were assigned to the 324 th Military Police battalion, 16 th Military Police brigade from Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.
"I'm very proud of them and what they did," said Brig. Gen. Matthew L. Kambic, Ohio's assistant adjutant general for Army in a prepared statement. "We are pleased that they are safe and have returned home to their families after a job well done."
