State Rep Tom Brinkman has proposed a bill that would allow Ohio inmates to be housed in neighboring states. The impetus for this bill, one can assume, is Hamilton county's jail problem, but does this really solve the problem? I don't think so.Hamilton county was renting space in Butler county's jails before this whole fiasco erupted so I'm not real sure what the point of shipping these criminals to Kentucky is supposed to do to fix the problem.
I have an email in to Mr. Brinkman in hopes of getting an answer that will clear this issue up and will report back when/if I get a response.
UPDATE: Mr. Brinkman was kind enough to reply to my email and included some materials that I am going to have to take some time and study before reporting back...stay tuned!
