Release: "Another Legislator Supports Latta for Congress"

Bowling Green, Ohio (November 2, 2007) — Senator Randy Gardner said today that he is formally supporting Bob Latta in the upcoming Republican primary election for Ohio’s 5th Congressional District.

Gardner, who has known Bob Latta for the past 20 years, said Latta is the best choice to represent Northwest Ohio families in Congress.

Senator Gardner said, “I have worked closely with Bob Latta for nearly two decades on projects and issues important to Wood County . Citizens want elected officials who are honest, hard-working and share the values of the people they represent. There is no question that all three of these qualities apply to Bob Latta.”

Bob Latta said he is honored to have his friend and colleague formally support him in the upcoming Republican primary election.

“Randy has been a friend for a long time, and I am honored to have his formal support,” said Latta. “I feel so blessed to have this many friends and supporters. Some of them are new, and some of them I’ve known a long time. I sincerely appreciate the generous support I’ve received throughout the campaign.”

Senator Randy Gardner’s endorsement adds to a slate of public officials who have given their support to Bob Latta for Congress.

In addition to Gardner, Latta has also received endorsements from former Congressman Mike Oxley, State Representative Lynn Wachtmann, State Representative Jeff Wagoner, State Representative Randy Wagoner, Mayor John Quinn of Bowling Green, and Mayor Don Gerdes of Delta, Steve Buehrer’s home town. To date, no legislator from the 5th Congressional District who serves with both Buehrer and Latta has chosen to support Buehrer.
