Latta Release: New Ad Highlighting Plans to Solve Illegal Immigration

Bowling Green, Ohio (December 4, 2007) — Bob Latta feels the illegal immigration problem in this country is spiraling out of control, and something has to be done to solve it.

Bob Latta commented, “As I travel across the 5th District, people are constantly bringing up the issue of illegal immigration. I want to make it clear, in Congress, I will fight against any bill that grants amnesty for illegal immigrants, and I will work to encourage the enforcement of the laws that we have on the books and look for ways to strengthen those laws.”

Latta continued, “Amnesty is a slap in the face to all of those immigrants who try to come into
America through the front door. Not only will I fight against amnesty, I will fight against all taxpayer funded benefits for illegal immigrants and make securing the border a priority.”

Latta concluded, “There is a clear difference between myself and my opponent, Robin Weirauch on the issue of illegal immigration. Robin supports taxpayer funded healthcare for illegal immigrants (HR 676). Hard working Americans have a tough enough time paying for health care, the last thing our government should do is give health care to those who have broken our laws.”
