OH-03 Update: Dems Snub Jane

Here is an interesting update on two potential challengers to my mayor, Rep. Mike Turner, from DaytonOS:
It seems that Jane Mitakides has hurt someone’s feelings. That someone evidently has a huge ego.

Mitakides appeared before the Montgomery County Democratic Party Central Committee last night and asked for their endorsement to run for the DEM nomination in the Ohio 3rd Congressional District.

The response from the political power brokers was to hold off on an endorsement until other candidates had a chance to come forward.

Other candidates?

Who are they kidding. There are no other candidates. At least there wasn’t at the time of last night’s meeting.

Maybe the DEMS will endorse David Esrati, he has just announced his candidacy. Although Esrati doesn’t toe the party line any more than Mitakides.
Esrati shows up in the comments and blathers on about how Turner has been a rubber stamp for Bush and yada, yada, yada...which is incredibly funny seeing as I've actually been rather disappointed in my mayor more than a few times since he went to Dee Cee. I guess that all depends on your perspective...

Anyway, it appears, to this analyst anyway, that the Democrats in Montgomery county are having difficulty in settling in on a candidate to take on Turner. I covered Jane fairly extensively over at Gem City Journal when she ran against Turner the last time. She is pretty much a socialist and an elitist as I recall and not at all representative of the district.

As bad as the Republicans are in Montgomery County, their saving grace has always been that the Democrats are usually worse off...sounds like things haven't changed all that much, really...
