Bowling Green, Ohio (December 7, 2007) — Bob Latta and his supporters rallied today in support of traditional values, and discussed the importance of electing a Congressman who will fight for those values in Washington,Meanwhile, the NRCC has launched a new video on Robin Weirauch and Her Extreme Liberal Values:
D.C.
"One of the most important things a congressman can do is represent the values of his constituents," said Latta.
"Just like me, the people of northwest Ohio are conservatives who believe in protecting life, preserving traditional marriage, keeping taxes low on Ohio families, and preventing illegal aliens from getting free, taxpayer funded health care."
Mark Lally, legislative counsel to Ohio Right to Life, attended the event and commented on Bob Latta's 100% pro-life voting record.
""The Ohio Right to Life PAC strongly endorses Bob Latta for Congress," said Lally. "Whether he was protecting unborn children from the brutality of partial-birth abortion, protecting taxpayers from being forced to pay for abortions, or protecting parents from being left without a say when their minor daughters were seeking abortions, Bob Latta has been a strong defender of the pro-life cause."
State Rep. Lynn Wachtmann, R-Napoleon, also commented on Latta's strong pro-life views.
"Bob Latta has proven time and again that he believes in protecting life from conception to natural end," said Wachtmann. "He has a 100% voting record with Ohio Right to Life, and he will continue his support of the pro-life cause if elected to Congress."
All of this is in stark contrast to Latta's opponent, the liberal Democrat Robin Weirauch.
Weirauch is supported by pro-abortion groups Planned Parenthood and EMILY's List because of her own pro-abortion views. Weirauch is opposed to a traditional marriage amendment, and just yesterday admitted her support of a bill that provides free, taxpayer funded health care to illegal immigrants.
"Robin Weirauch clearly does not represent the values of northwest Ohio families," said Latta.
"In these times of uncertainty when traditional values are under assault from all directions, we need leaders in Washington who will stand firm for our values and make us proud. The people of northwest Ohio can count on me to do that."
I can't stress enough how important it is to make sure that Speaker of State Nancy Pelosi doesn't get another vote for her MoveOn.org and Code Pink agenda. Ohioians should join voters from LA and MS in rejecting the Democrat's failed leadership, demagoguing, and negative attacks and support instead the Republican ideals of individual responsibility, lower taxes, and limited government. Democrats offer a formula of pessimism and negativity that has been proven itself to be no substitute for the Republicanism in 2007.
