Brown County GOP Update: Bottom Line, Cancer Sucks...Prayers with Tina Meranda

Matt and I attended Brown County's Lincoln Day dinner Saturday night, where Rob Portman (run for Senate and take out Voinovich, please!!!) was the keynote speaker. Matt and I will have more to say about our impressions of the dinner and our experience. I, right now, want to take the time and mention the terrible news we heard about current clerk of courts, Tina Meranda.

Tina Meranda was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her lung and had it removed this past week, I believe. Her husband, Seth, gave us this news last night in an emotional address to those at the dinner. According to Seth, she was still in ICU.

Look, it is quite clear that Tina and I will never be friends, that we have some deep disagreements politically and personally. That is all well and good. However, cancer sucks and I would not wish it upon anyone. Especially a woman in the prime of her life, in her late 30s early 40s, with young children. While I may not be a loyal supporter of Ms. Meranda politically, first and foremost I am a human being (no matter what the libs or the Schmidt haters say).

Tina, you are in my thoughts and prayers and I pray for you and your family during this scary and uncertain time. We here at WMD wish you the best and hope for a speedy recovery. There is a time and a place for political talk and arguments, this ain't it.
