The Democrats famously said they were going to make Illinois "Ground Zero" in their efforts to expand their majority, but after their candidate dropped out in Illinois' 18th Congressional District, the results of Tuesday's primary reflect only failure on their part. However, this "Super" Tuesday, Republicans across Illinois selected a strong bench of Republican nominees to run this November:This is good news...
IL-08: Steve Greenberg, a successful businessman from Long Grove, IL., comes from the great American tradition of citizens who want to improve the lives of their families and neighbors through government service. As a Congressman, Steve will focus on reforming Washington, cutting taxes, making government more efficient, and keeping our families safe.
IL-11: As a Mayor, Police Chief and former School Board President, Tim Baldermann is an experienced leader who has dedicated his professional life to improving our communities -- making them better and safer. The Bloomington Pantagraph said Tim Baldermann, "knows what it's like to establish a budget and be accountable to taxpayers."
IL-14: Jim Oberweis is a successful entrepreneur and family man. Jim is a common sense conservative: pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, pro-tax cut, pro-spending cut, and pro-growth. Jim believes we must secure our borders and end illegal immigration, and believes we must defend our homeland and support our troops against the Islamic extremists who are determined to destroy us. He is determined to cut the special-interest pork and end wasteful government spending, and will stand up for traditional cultural values.
IL-18: At the age of 23, Aaron Schock was simultaneously the President of the Peoria School Board and a Republican Illinois State Representative, making him the youngest school board president in history and the youngest member of the Illinois General Assembly. In his first three years in the Illinois General Assembly, he sponsored 18 bills that he was able to work through to passage. These bills dealt with a series of education reforms, several child protection initiatives, prescription drug savings, veterans' assistance, road construction, and a bill to combat high-tech identity theft, the first of its kind in the nation.
