Green Party vote not a 'wasted' voteAs a wise, old man once said, "Good! Good...everything is proceeding as I have forseen."
With Ohio's primary now in the history books, we now direct our attention to the next election -- the general.
Despite my stance as an avid progressive/liberal, I currently reside on the proverbial fence as to who I might cast my vote for in November. I certainly oppose the re-election of Congressman Zack Space for his repeated capitulations on interests of vital importance and shall either vote for a third-party candidate representing a better positioning on the issues than the incumbent or choose to skip that portion of the ballot altogether.
As it pertains to the race for president, I'm torn between voting my values and avoiding a so-called "wasted vote" by casting it for the Democratic nominee. However, when considering the numerous troubling positions held by both Democratic contenders for the nomination on issues such as health care, Iraq, Iran, the Patriot Act, demanding or even merely supporting the impeachment of Bush and Cheney alongside many other matters, the candidacies of either Nader or whomever the Green Party nominates become more appealing every day.
A vote for the status quo certainly is an endorsement of the endless cycle it provides us, and that is exactly the primary issue we find ourselves faced with this year. Only a vote cast against your values is a wasted vote. Never let anyone tell you differently.

Yes, I agree, Young Jedi, the only wasted vote is the one cast against your values. Release your anger and your conversion to the Dark Side will be complete!
