Pence Says President’s Support of “Immeasurable Value” and Urges Congressional Action
WASHINGTON, DC—U.S. Congressman Mike Pence released the following statement in response to remarks given by President George W. Bush at the 2008 National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville, TN. Pence attended the speech at the invitation of the President.
“President Bush's call for passage of the Broadcaster Freedom Act at the National Religious Broadcasters convention is of immeasurable value to those of us fighting to preserve freedom on the airwaves of America,” Pence said.
“Congress must heed the call of our president and end the so-called Fairness Doctrine once and for all. Our freedom of speech and of religion on the airwaves of America demand action now.”
