Gingrich and Cole Predict DOOM! Offer No Solutions

Color me unimpressed with Newt Gingrich's latest efforts at making himself relevant again. Don't get me wrong, I believe that the GOP needs a whole new emphasis on policy that mimics the kind of shift that the Contract With America represented, but I don't think that Gingrich has any ideas left to offer that are worthy of inclusion. I mean seriously, look at what he thinks is important:
Gingrich said that if the GOP leadership would not go along with his plan, “then the minority who are activists should establish a parallel organization dedicated to real change.” He offered nine policy proposals designed to achieve that goal, including repealing federal gas taxes, reforming the Census Bureau and declaring English as the official language of the United States.
Oh yeah, Census Bureau reform, now THERE'S an issue that's just burning up the airwaves! English as the official language will be a surefire vote-getter... Repealing federal gas taxes is a good idea, but it will NEVER happen so long as Democrats hold the gavel and we're only one cycle in to that so I'm left asking if gas taxes were such an important issue, why didn't Republican repeal them when they were in charge?

If Republicans were serious about regaining the majority, they'd stop fooling around and get real on earmarks, ethics, and reducing government interference in our daily lives.

Republican Leader, my Congressman and a Great American -- John Boehner -- was right all along about Tom Cole and the pathetic performance of the NRCC. Now there is an organization that is in serious need of overhauling. Maybe once they are done there, they can move on to the RNC...
