Heh. Heh-Heh. He Said "Hard" Truths

I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet; but over at The Cincinnati Beacon, the Dean takes Phil Heimlich and Bill Sloat to task for a childish performance on L'Affair Dann.

Let's start with Bill's "Culture of Copulation"...I'm not sure when that first appeared in Bill's lexicon, but I've been calling Marc Dann's office a culture of carousing for quite some time. Why? While Bill seems content to focus in on Marc Dann and his extra-marital activities, I think the scandal is bigger than Marc Dann and encompasses the entire office and the work being done there. Carousing refers to more than just coitus-on-the-sideus, it includes all of the other liquer-based "merrymaking" going on too. Let's face some reality here: without alcohol being involved, these stories don't have the same ending.

And that doesn't mean I'm against alcohol. In fact, I enjoy a good adult beverage as much as the nexst guy. But let's not pretend that drunkeness had no role to play in this whole sordid affair. Clearly, it did. And with Bill making this "just about sex" I think we run the risk of turning this thing in to MonicaGate...and that just wouldn't be fair to the two victims of sexual harassment whose complaints brought this thing to light in the first place.
