(Mt. Vernon) – 18th District Congressional candidate Fred Dailey received an important endorsement from one of Ohio's most prominent agricultural organizations – Ohio Cattlemen's Association.I was pretty worried about this endorsement...
The Ohio Cattlemen's Association (OCA) is a grassroots organization that promotes the economic, political and social needs of Ohio's cattle producers. Nearly one-third of Ohio's 15,000 cattle producers live in the 18th district. The Ohio Cattlemen's Association endorses candidates who can best meet their needs.
"The decision to endorse Fred Dailey came easily," said Elizabeth Harsh, Ohio Cattlemen's Association Executive Director. "We can count on Fred Dailey to respect our members' interests in Congress because he's been working with us for decades."
Fred Dailey served as executive secretary of the Ohio Cattlemen's Association from 1983-1991 during which time the membership of OCA quadrupled. Dailey was also the longest serving Director of Agriculture in Ohio history and elected by his peers to serve as president of National Association of State Departments of Agriculture.
"I'm honored that a group I have worked so closely with would choose to endorse my candidacy for Congress," Fred Dailey stated. "They, like many 18th District voters, believe we need someone who truly represents the values of Eastern Ohioans in Washington. I am honored to be their standard-bearer."
Director Dailey resides on his family farm in Mt. Vernon with his wife, Rita.
