Butler County: Hamilton Parks

Yesterday, Joshua Rinaldi wrote a piece for the JournalNews about the city of Hamilton looking in to seeking private donations to help fund their Parks and Recreation department. Here are the key paragraphs:
Harris hopes that through the fund, the parks department might be able to make infrastructure repairs, purchase new equipment or build new shelters. Naming rights could be purchased for shelters or currently unnamed parks.

To start the fund, Guidugli said the foundation needs approval from the city, which would need to decide how to disburse money that is not donated with a specific intention. The fund must have a $5,000 balance, so the city will need to pay it, or solicit a donation to pay it, to start the fund.
Naturally, I think that this is a great idea; but I also like to expand on something that one of the commenters has to say:
i think it,ll help alot our parks need serious attention a few weeks agoIdrove by darrell pace park even though the street dead ends the lawn hasnt been mowed, theres a ball field noone uses because theres no parking or bleachers or concession stand Noone plays at the playground and we need a road wi th parking parents have to park there cars on the street atleast a road that extends across 4mile creek with another acess out of the park if traffic backs up after the game
Allow me to translate: the City of Hamilton -- and by extension, everywhere else too -- ought to be keeping track of which parks are not being utilized and shut them down.
