Here is what Michael Steele had to say on the subject:
“Last night, the Democrats who control the House floor could have done a lot of things. They could have brought legislation to the floor to increase the supply of American energy and lower gas prices. They could have brought legislation to the floor to give our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan the money they need – money the military requested over a year ago, and money that they needed before Memorial Day. They could have brought up bipartisan legislation to protect our country by modernizing FISA. They could have helped our economy by leveling the playing field for American farmers and other exporters by bringing up the Colombia Free Trade Agreement. Instead, they spent nearly five hours listening to Rep. Dennis Kucinich talk about his rather fantastical theories about the President. Tonight, they plan to do the same thing again. This is just another example of the Democratic Leadership in the House indulging trivial and silly conspiracy theories from left-wing bloggers, rather than working with Republicans to deal with the real issues facing the American people.”I think Kucinich ought to remember what happened the last time somebody brought impeachment charges against a sitting president... Actually, going ahead with this charade just might bring President Bush's approval numbers back up.
And what a tragic waste of time that was...
