Has the Ohio GOP Picked its AG Sacrificial LambCandidate?

According to the Columbus Dispatch, it appears the lamb can now begin being led to the slaughter:
Crites, the managing partner of a Columbus law firm and a federal prosecutor under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, confirmed to the Daily Briefing yesterday that he's been approached by party officials.

Six weeks ago, Democrats united around state Treasurer Richard Cordray as their party's candidate to replace Marc Dann, a fellow Democrat who resigned midterm after a scandal over sexual harassment and mismanagement toppled his administration.

Cordray has been busy raising money, securing endorsements and assembling a campaign staff.

Crites, though a comparative political novice, has an extensive military and legal background that will make him a strong candidate, the source said.

The party is scheduled to make its choice official tomorrow.

Now I know what you are saying...Mark, why so pessimistic? Well, aside from hearing from party insiders about the sorry state of affairs for the Ohio GOP candidate slate and the early polling, there is the matter of money. DICK Cordray has money, lots of it, on hand from his own campaigns, in addition to the Dems uniting to try to keep the seat. He also has had SIX WEEKS to be out and about campaigning and GETTING MORE CASHOLA while the Ohio GOP has been begging the likes of Portman and every DeWine not named Kevin to take the nod for AG.

Therefore, while I will support Mr. Crites, should it be him, he is facing A HUGE, UPHILL battle.
