OH-07: Notes on Neuhardt's Numbers

Here are a few notes on OH-07 Democratic candidate Sharen Neuhardt's fundraising numbers:

Individual Contributions to Sharen Neuhardt:

  • 76% of Neuhardt’s contributions came from outside of the 7th Congressional District (222)

  • 20% of Neuhardt’s contributions came from outside of Ohio (57)

  • 109 of her of her donors were lawyers, accounting for approximately $52,000

  • 53 contributions to Neuhardt were from attorneys at Thompson Hine Law Firm totally more than $28,000.

  • Expenses:

She also spent over $131K for this quarter, which left her with just over $100K on hand. She also has $5K in debt.

In contrast, Austria only spent $30K in this period and has no debt. He also has over $360 on hand.

Imagine Sharen Neuhardt having access to taxpayers' dollars?

Also Austria received contributions from all 8 counties in the district. Sharen received contributions from only 3 counties in the 7th Congressional District: Ross, Clark & Greene.

Her support is very obvious, trial attorneys and people that don't even live in her district.

    Other Sharen Neuhardt expenses:

  • Microwave, $59.96

  • $ 1389.16 on 20 different lunches or dinner

  • Joe Trippi & Associates, Inc., $5000 consulting -- (Joe was Howard Dean's campaign chairman in 2004)

  • The Baughman Company, Win Bonus, $2,500.00 (Baughman Company based in San Francisco; Nancy Pelosi anyone?)

  • Cooper & Secrest Associates, Survey Research, $12,500, on 05/19/2008

  • Cooper & Secrest Associates, Survey Research, $12,500, on 05/21/2008

  • Those last two are the polling company. I suppose she didn't like the results of the first poll...
